Author Visit

Sandra offers two presentations appropriate for grades 3-12.

In “Story of a Story: Eli’s Lie-O-Meter” Sandra discusses the exciting process of creating a picture book from idea to bookshelf. She explains storyboards, shares rejection letters, shows samples from the printing and production process, and reads Eli’s Lie-O-Meter in its entirety.

“Skeleton of a Story” shows how the process of creating a picture book can help with any writing project.

In preschool to second grade classrooms Sandra reads to the students and everyone sings a song or two.  Children receive coloring pages and bookmarks. 

The half-day fee is $500, full-day $900, plus mileage and related travel expenses.  Sessions are 45-60 minutes long, so two sessions easily fit into a half day. Books are available for purchase.
